Degerloch Campus Performing Arts
At ISS, the Performing Arts are an essential part of our students’ growth, creativity, and self-expression. From choirs and orchestras to musicals, recorder, and private instrumental lessons, students of all ages have the opportunity to explore music in meaningful ways. With regular performances both in school and the wider community, we nurture a lifelong love of the arts while building confidence and collaboration.
At ISS, the Performing Arts are a vibrant and integral part of school life, helping students develop creativity, confidence, and collaboration. From the earliest years, children are encouraged to discover the joy of making music together, whether in choir, recorder club, Orffestra, or orchestra. Our program supports both beginners and experienced musicians, with opportunities for private lessons across a wide range of instruments. Regular performances , at assemblies, showcases, and community events, allow students to share their learning and connect with authentic audiences, embodying the IB’s emphasis on communication and engagement beyond the classroom.
In addition to music, ISS proudly stages plays and musicals in our state-of-the-art theater, giving students the chance to shine on stage and work behind the scenes with professional-level equipment. These productions bring together students’ talents in acting, singing, movement, and technical theater, offering a holistic experience that fosters risk-taking, self-expression, and teamwork. Through the Performing Arts, our students not only build artistic skills but also learn to appreciate diverse cultures, develop resilience, and discover passions that can last a lifetime.
